State, Local Police Make Arrests

DUIs, Crashes, Violations of Protective Orders

Connecticut Sate Troopers and Montville Police made the following arrests:

March 17

At 10:48 p.m., Montville Police arrested Deborah J. Allberry, 54, of 61 Swanty Johnson Road, Uncasville, and charged her with failure to drive right, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. She was charged a $500 bond on the latter charge, and given an April 5 court date. The arrest came on Norwich-New London Turnpike, after police stopped her, citing a motor vehicle violation.

At 5:08 p.m., Montville Police arrested Mark Andrew Burdick, 47, of 5 South Pine St., Niantic, and charged him with failure to drive right, improper registration/license loan/sell use, insurance coverage fails minimum requirements, driving or towing an unregistered motor vehicle, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 bond on the final charge, and given an April 5 court date. The arrest came at 77 Route 163, after police stopped him, citing a motor vehicle violation.

At 12:10 a.m., Connecticut State Police arrested Angela Tirado, 27, of 171 Beacon St., Hartford, and charged her with disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer and reckless endangerment in the second degree. The report says that Tirado was taken into custory after an altercation “which took place while traveling on I-395 south in Montville.” Tirado was taken into custody on Interstate 395.

March 18

At 3:28 a.m., Montville Police responded to a head-on two-car crash on Pequot Road. A 2000 Jeep Wrangler driven by George A. Patterson, 47, of 245 Moxley Road, Uncasville, and a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Michael B. Johnson, 22, of 67 Stoddard’s Wharf Road, Ledyard, collided. Both vehicles had front-end damage; both were towed by Padgett’s. No injuries were reported.

At 7:19 p.m., police arrested William W. Liccardi, 31, of 17 Maple Ave. Ext., Uncasville, and charged him with making an improper turn and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.  He was assessed a $500 bond on the latter charge, and given an April 5 court date. The arrest came on Route 32, after police stopped him, citing a motor vehicle violation.

March 19

At 2:42 a.m., Montville Police arrested Michael E. Gayne, 29, of Norwich, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to drive right. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the first charge, and given an April 5 court date. The arrest came on Route 85 in Montville, after, according to the report, “the subject was observed operating his vehicle erratically.”

March 20

At 9:35 a.m., police arrested Antonio C. Mclendon, 28, a resident at the Corrigan Correctional Facility. The report says Mclendon broke the sprinkler head in his cell, causing flooding. It also says that he refused fingerprinting. He was charged with failure to submit to fingerprinting, and criminal mischief in the first degree. He was assessed a $2,500 bond on the latter charge and given a March 31 court date.

At 9:55 p.m., Montville Police arrested Mark V. Home, 37, of 60 Albatross Road, Quincy, MA, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to stop at a control signal. The report says that Home was observed leaving Route 2A and failing to stop at the light. He was assessed a $500 surety bond and given an April 5 court date.

March 21

At 1:50 a.m., Montville Police arrested Hannah Knowles, 21, of 2951 Gold Star Highway, Mystic, and charged her with failure to drive right, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest came on Gallivan Lane, in Montville after, according to the report, Knowles was observed driving erratically.

March 22

At 8:25 a.m., police arrested Daniel A. Alger, 19, of 53 Fitch Hill Road, Uncasville, and charged him with criminal violation of a protective order. The arrest was made at his residence. He was assessed a $2,500 bond and given a March 24 court date.

March 23

At 2:45 p.m., Montville Police arrested John D. Coggeshall, 23, of 844 Raymond Hill Road, Oakdale, and charged him with breach of peace, non-assaultive and nonthreatening. The report says he threw a brick at a sign, “causing concern that there had been a gunshot fired.” He was released on a $500 nonsurety bond and given an April 7 court date.

Montville Police arrested Jack A. Amado, 47, of 23 Cherry Lane, Oakdale, and charged him with failure to display reflectorized safety number plate, disobeying the signal of an officer and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
