School Board Member Arrested, Charged with DUI

Todd Pomazon was stopped at a Montville Police sobriety checkpoint Friday night.

 

Police are reporting that Todd Pomazon, Montville Board of Education member was arrested last night by Montville Police as part of the

Police said Pomazon, 56, was arrested before 9 p.m., booked and released at approximately 12 a.m. He has a Sept. 4 court date set.

Pomazon, of 90 Pequot Road, serves as a school board member until November of 2013.

Pomazon, former chairman of the Democratic Party, was the subject of a number of surrounding a Freedom of Information complaint he filed against the Town Council. He dropped the FOI complaint in October of 2011, days before the 2011 election he told Patch because, "Anything I do at this point is going to be perceived as I’m doing it purely for election purposes."

The sobriety checkpoint continues through tonight. According to Officer Robin Salvatore, the sobriety checkpoint is made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation under 2012 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement funds.  Montville Town Police received approximately $74,200.00 in grant funding in 2012.
