Caller Says a Loved One Needs Money

The Montville Resident State Troopers Office, and Montville Police Department advise citizens that a scam is being perpetrated in town.

In a press release, Sgt. Michael Collins, resident state trooper, says that criminals call on the phone, and tell the person who answers that a loved one has been arrested in a foreign country and needs money for bail or legal assistance.

The scammers ask that the respondent send a bank check or money order.
