Stamford Woman Who Tried to Ram U.S. Capitol, White House Gates Shot Dead

Miriam Carey, 34, is the registered owner of the black Infinity sedan driven from the White House to Capitol Hill, where the driver tried to ram through barricades, according to news reports.

A woman who rammed the barricades at the U.S. Capitol and the White House earlier today before being shot dead was identified as Miriam Carey of Stamford, CT, a 34-year-old dental hygienist, according to a report citing law enforcement officials in the New Haven Register.

At least four helicopters are over the Woodside Green co-op apartment complex off of Bridge and Summer streets in Stamford where police believe Carey lived, as police stand watch with patrol car lights flashing.
