Police Searching for Robbery Suspect

Two Gas Stations Have Been Held Up at Gunpoint

On Tuesday, at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Mobil Mart at 262 Flanders Road in East Lyme was robbed, and Connecticut State Police are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect.

The store employee reported that a male dressed all in black entered the store, displayed a revolver-type handgun and demanded everything from the cash drawer.

The clerk complied and the gunman left the store, fleeing in a dark-colored sedan down Route 161 towards Interstate 95.

The gunman was described as a light-skinned black male wearing a black knit cap and a dark colored scarf covering his mouth. He also wore black gloves, black shoes and dark colored jeans.

 A short time later, the Shell station on Halls Road in Old Lyme was robbed by a gunman of similar description. It is believed that the two robberies are related.
