State Police Report for Memorial Day Weekend; Montville Police Report May Arrests

Across the state oer the Memorial Day weekend, there were 260 accidents, Lt. J. Paul Vance, public information officer for the Connecticut State Police, said in a press release. Eighteen involved injuries.  There were four fatalities, on Interstate 95 in Groton and Route 85 in Bolton.

Across the state, there were 70 arrests on charges of driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Police issued 978 tickets for driving without seatbelts, and 2,013 speeding tickets.

In the month of May in Montville, according to Resident State Trooper Sgt. Michael Collins, police issued 453 tickets charging motor vehicle violations, seatbelt infractions, operating unregistered vehicles, and driving without insurance. There were 18 arrests on charges of driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
