State Police have yet to release the name of the individual charged in Thursday's home invasion at 77 Lake Drive in Oakdale.  But Resident State Trooper Sgt. Martin 'Marty' Martinez confirmed that at least one of the suspects in the armed burglary brandished a gun. Martinez also confirmed that the one person in custody was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree hom invasion. When asked if the suspect is a Montville resident Martinez said he was "local." Sources told Montville Patch, and Martinez confirmed, that the other suspect is hospitalized after being confronted by the homeowner. Martinez said state police will seek a warrant charging the hospitalized man with the home invasion. He said he did not know the individual's name.

Martinez said detetives with Eastern Division, or the Criminal Investigation unit were handling the case and he was not sure whey no news release had been issued nor the name of the arrested individual.
"This is a continuing investigation by Eastern District," Martinez said.

Police and sources close to the incident told Montville Patch the home invasion/robbery may have been drug related.

Original story Friday, April 5:

As we reported Friday morning, Montville Resident State Trooper Sgt. Martin Martinez confirmed for Patch that there was a home invasion in the Lake Drive area of the Oakdale section of Montville. The suspects were armed. Martinez said one person was arrested and another arrest was "pending."

Martinez said a press release from the Connecticut State Police at Troop E would be forthcoming.

That was at 6:50 a.m.

Patch contacted and visited Troop E several times throughout the day today, and was told information was not yet available but was coming. The most recent call to CSP had a dispatcher suggest a reporter contact the CSP public information officer. That attempt to reach a police spokesperson was also unsuccessful. And Montville Police have not provided any information either saying the case is being handled by CSP criminal investigations unit.

Patch will continue to try and get details of the home invasion and when we get any details, we will update this story.
