The Public Safety Commission received the Montville Police Department’s report of January and February calls, at the commission’s most recent meeting.
To date in 2012, the department has had:
- 3,365 total calls for service
- 81 arrests
- 8 juvenile arrests
- 485 of those calls have come through the Connecticut State Police at Troop E
- 475 have come through the Montville Police Department
- 82 have been reported by walk-ins
- 2,322 have been called in by officers
- Motor-vehicle collision calls (January)
- 32 calls concerning general motor vehicle collisions
- 9 car-deer collision calls
- 2 collisions with injuries
- 1 DUI collision
- Motor vehicle collision calls (February)
- 51 calls concerning general motor vehicle collisions
- 5 car-deer collision calls
- 7 collisions with injuries
Criminal activity (January)
- 3 burglary calls
- 6 trespassing calls
- 2 vandalism calls
- 3 calls of vandalism to mailboxes
- 4 calls of vandalism to parked vehicles
- 21 larceny calls
- 24 breach of peace calls
- 20 calls for disorderly conduct
- 5 calls for harassing phone calls
- 3 calls about unlawful discharge of weapons

- 1 untimely death

Fire calls
In January, according to the fire marshal’s report, fire departments in town responded to 201 incident calls.
They included:

148 EMS calls
5 vehicle accidents with injuries
3 spills of oil or other combustible liquid
9 general cleanup following vehicle accidents
3 smoke scare/odor of smoke
In February, they responded to 212 calls.
They included:
3 passenger vehicle fires
4 brush, or brush and grass fires
