Police Blotter: Many Accidents and a Few Arrests

Police reports for October 24-29

Slick conditions and slushy roads made driving hazardous on October 29. State Police at Troop E responded to 14 accidents, although injuries were reported in just one case and the injury was relatively minor.

Oct. 24

Robert J. Mcintear, 23, originally of 32 Colman St., New London, was arrested for assaulting a fellow inmate while incarcerated at Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center. The victim, Jose Marin, 26, sustained burns to his face and was taken to UConn Medical Center for treatment. Mcintear was charged with assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and breach of peace.

Oct. 26

Reginald Weed, 55, of Vinegar Hill Rd., Gales Ferry was arrested and charged with threatening in the second degree and harassment in the second degree. There were no injuries reported. Bond was set at $7,500.

Cory Pavlace, 21, of 44 Reservoir Hill Rd., Griswold, was charged with violating a protective order by sending harassing text messages. Bond was set at $2,500.

Oct. 27

Mark David Sullivan, 19, of 88 Chestnut Street, Norwich, was arrested after getting into an altercation with his mother at her home at 34 Brown Ave., Jewett City. Sullivan was charged with burglary in the second degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and assault in the third degree (minor injuries or intent to cause injury). Bond was set at $2,500.

Oct. 28

Arthur J. Elliott, 19, of 13 School Hill Rd., Apt. A, in Sprague turned himself into State Police Troop E, who had issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of risk of injury to a minor. Bond was set at $75,000.  

Sarah L. Fortin, 20, of 242 Nautilus Drive, New London, was arrested by Montville Police after failing to stop at a stop sign. Fortin, who failed a field sobriety test, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and for failing to obey a stop sign. Bond was set at $500.

Jason L. Lamarche, 32, of 715 Norwich-Westerly Rd., in Stonington was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs after police found him parked  on the Exit 87 ramp off 1-95. Bond was set at $500.

Police reports come from the Montville Police Department and State Police Troop E. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
