Update: The Power Is On in Montville
According to CL&P, power has been restored to 100 percent of customers
By this morning, power was on to 100 percent of homes in Montville, according to the CL&P outage chart .
The outage map clearly shows that power is still out to hundreds of thousands of people in the northeastern part of the state.
Fire Marshal Raymond Occhialini, Montville’s Emergency Management chief, said during the storm that Mayor Joseph Jaskiewicz had been in contact with CL&P, which had promised fast restoration of service.

“We went from 18 percent of the town without power to just 9 percent now,” Occhialini said. “It’s just in the Oakdale section of town.'
All the schools have power and Occhialini says School Superintendent Pamela W. Aubin reports that schools will be open as usual today.

The storm caused a number of accidents, mostly minor with no injuries reported, although a vehicle took out a pole in front of the Chesterfield Fire House before the storm hit at around noon yesterday
There was very little snow accumulation in some parts of town. Around Town Hall, for instance, there’s just a dusting of snow on the ground. In Oakdale, which is at a higher elevation, residents are shoveling away about 5 inches of snow.
Other parts of Connecticut bore the brunt of the storm. Occhialini says CL&P is warning residents in the Northwest hills of Connecticut that they might be without power for up to a week.
“I’m just glad we’re not west of here,” Occhialini says.
