New Montville Police Officer To Be Sworn In Monday

Andrew Nameth transfers from the New London Police Department

The Montville Police Department will welcome a new officer next week.

Andrew C. Nemeth will be sworn in at 9 a.m. on Monday at the Montville Town Hall. Nemeth is a lateral transfer from the New London Police Department, where served four years after graduating from the Connecticut Police Academy in 2009. 

According to Lt. Leonard Bunnell, Nemeth graduated from Ledyard High School in 2000 and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2004. Nemeth is also a captain in the Connecticut Air National Guard and served a tour of duty in Afghanistan as the deputy squadron commander of the 103rd Security Forces.

Nemeth will begin field training immediately after he is sworn in.
