Meeting with the Public Safety Committee recently, Montville Police Lt. Leonard Bunnell released the Montville Police Department’s mission statement.

Performance goals

Continuing to improve upon interpersonal relations with the public, outside agencies and department morale.

Increase minimum patrol requirements, thus providing the necessary staffing levels per shift as well as additional safety to the patrol officers.

Maintenance goals

Maintain a professional and quality level of service to the town with the provided budgetary allowances.

Efficiently utilize all available resources in order to continue our current growth and direction while maintaining a progressively changing police department

Development goals

Continuing to provide mobile data terminals in police cruisers, in-car video cameras and tactical taser weapons

Administrative goals include putting aside, for now, the request to fund a part-time clerk. This position was cut from the past three budgets, according to the report.

Operational objectives

Adopt, recommend and solidify multiple resources and support for the continued growth and development of the agency.
