Montville Police Log, June 10-17

The following arrests were recorded at Connecticut State Police Troop E. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.

 

June 10

Patricia R. Hungerford, 61, of 22 Hungerford Road in Colchester, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of a marker plate, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive in proper lane, driving without a license, $1,500 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Troop E, police pulled Hungerford over after seeing her driving erratically and determined that she was under the influence.

June 12

Chaoyu Wu, 31, of 831 56th Street in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Tan Guo Yu, 38, of 4424 Buckeye Court in Orlando, Fla., third-degree larceny, cheating, $10,000 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, surveillance footage at the Mohegan Sun Casino showed one man distracted a dealer while the other swapped his pai gow tiles to increase his chances of winning.

June 14

William A. Fitzgerald, 63, of 6 Upper Marina Drive in Uncasville, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under suspension, failure to drive in proper lane, $1,500. According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, Fitzgerald was seen driving erratically eastbound on Route 2A and was arrested after failing a sobriety test.

June 15

Alfred P. Mayo, 35, of 17 Russell Road in Norwich, third-degree assault, breach of peace, $1,000 bond. According to Connecticut state Police, Mayo punched a man several times outside the Polish Club, causing a laceration and bruising on the man’s eye and cheek.

 

Accidents

At about 7:45 a.m. on June 10, a 2008 Ford Focus driven by 21-year-old Amanda Murtz swerved to avoid northbound traffic on I-395 that had stopped for a deer in the road. The vehicle collided with a guardrail in the median, causing minor damage to the vehicle. Murtz was cited for failure to drive in proper lane.

At about 9:58 p.m. on June 10, a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by 24-year-old Anita M. Morneau of Groton was traveling north on the Montville connector when the vehicle skidded off the left side of the road and collided with a guard rail. Morneau and her three passengers were uninjured.
