Montville Police Log, July 2-9

The following arrests were recorded at Connecticut State Police Troop E. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.

July 2

Alexandra Lemieux, 33, of 759 Old Colchester Road, disorderly conduct, $500 bond. According to the Montville Police Department, Lemieux was intoxicated and struck her mother several times after getting into an argument with her.

July 5

Kevin Costello, 24, of 874 Raymond Hill Road, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, narcotics not kept in original container, illegal possession of a narcotic, failure to wear seat belt, $1,000 bond. According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, Costello as stopped on Route 85 for not wearing a seat belt and found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs; police also found narcotics not in their original container in the vehicle.

Gary Bartomioli, 22, of 27 Riverview Circle in Marlborough, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, $1,000 bond. According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, troopers found heroin and marijuana in Bartomioli’s vehicle during a traffic stop on Route 32.

Timothy Paradise, 21, of 50 Chapman Road in Marlborough, failure to obey traffic signal, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, $1,000 bond. According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, troopers found heroin and marijuana in Paradise’s vehicle during a traffic stop on Route 32.

July 7

Jose Carlos Medina Matos, 21, of 35 Bianca Road in Bristol, driving under suspension, failure to wear seat belt, $500 bond. According to the Montville Police Department, Matos was arrested after a traffic stop.

Thomas J. Szarzynski, 54, of 16 Shantock Heights Road, second-degree failure to appear in court, $7,500 bond. According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, Szarzyski was arrested on a warrant.

 

Accidents

At about 1:35 p.m. on July 5, 30-year-old Heather Brown of Seymour was driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan north on I-395 when she suffered a seizure and collided with a guard rail about half a mile north of Exit 79. Brown was taken to Backus Hospital and treated and released. The vehicle had severe damage to its entire left side.

At about 3:19 p.m. on July 7, a minor accident occurred about 25 feet south of Exit 79 in the northbound lane of I-395 between a 2002 Chrysler Concorde driven by 25-year-old Keisha Bailey of Taftville and a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 41-year-old Michelle Way of Bozrah. Both vehicles were able to leave the scene under their own power. Police issued Way a written warning for failure to maintain a reasonable distance.

 

July 4 weekend enforcement

Connecticut State Police Troop E assigned additional troopers to roads in southeastern Connecticut for the Fourth of July weekend. There were no fatal accidents or accidents with serious injuries. Troopers handled:

  • 496 motor vehicle infractions
  • 270 speeding infractions
  • 132 written warnings
  • 8 drunk driving arrests
