Montville Police Announce Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

A number of other area police departments may also be participating.

 

Montville Town Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday Aug. 24 and Saturday Aug. 25, 2012 with possible assistance from other members in the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Traffic Enforcement team, according to Officer Robin Salvatore, The other participating towns may include Stonington, Waterford, Clinton, East Lyme, Ledyard, Norwich, Groton Town and Groton City police departments.

According to Salvatore, the sobriety checkpoint is made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation under 2012 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement funds.  Montville Town Police received approximately $74,200.00 in grant funding in 2012.
