Montville Police Announce Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

A number of other area police departments may also be participating.


Montville Town Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday Aug. 24 and Saturday Aug. 25, 2012 with possible assistance from other members in the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Traffic Enforcement team, according to Officer Robin Salvatore, The other participating towns may include Stonington, Waterford, Clinton, East Lyme, Ledyard, Norwich, Groton Town and Groton City police departments.

According to Salvatore, the sobriety checkpoint is made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation under 2012 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement funds.  Montville Town Police received approximately $74,200.00 in grant funding in 2012.

Maybe they can pay the Luetenant overtime to help out O wait he can't use the computer anymore. Glad to see the mayor has taken corrective action oops that hasn't happened either

why do we publicize this so as to say if you are drinking and driving don't do it in Montville on these two days??
