Montville Man Charged in Prostitution Sting in Norwich

The Bulletin is reporting today that Charles K. Clarke, 55, of 5 McCalley Place in Montville is one of six men arrested Thursday in an undercover operation of an alleged prostitution ring in Norwich.

Authorities say Norwich residents provided information that led to the arrests on Thursday. The six were charged with soliciting a prostitute from a vehicle.

The undercover operation, conducted by the department’s detective and patrol divisions, began about 4 p.m. Thursday in the area of Boswell Avenue. Among those taken into custody were two brothers and a cousin.

In addition to Clarke, The Bulletin said, police arrested Julio Santos, 20, of 281 State St. in New London; Eugene L. Mann, 56, of 677 Chaffeeville Road in Storrs; Andrew S. Patterson, 18, of 29 Collins St. in Seabrook, N.H.; Clark R. Patterson, 23, of 93-99 Chestnut St., Apt. E in Norwich; and Kenneth J. Patterson, 23, of 93-99 Chestnut St., Apt. E in Norwich.

Each was released on a $2,500 nonsurety bond; they were given March 29 court dates.
