Komisarjevsky Jury Selection Turns to Picking Alternates
Six alternate jurors and three backup alternates are still needed.
Jury selection resumed yesterday at New Haven following the selection of the 12th juror Tuesday for the trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky.
Defense lawyers and prosecutors still must pick six alternate jurors and three backup alternates for the jury that will decide the fate of the second Cheshire home invasion defendant. The trial is scheduled to start in September.
Prosecutors on Tuesday used two more peremptory challenges to excuse prospective jurors without cause.

The prosecutors have now used 23 peremptory challenges, while Komisarjevsky’s defense lawyers, who did not use any on Tuesday, have used a total of 28.
