Former Montville Councilor McFee Arrested, Charged With Stealing Sign During Election Season

McFee is alleged to have taken a disparaging sign, Dump Dana, that former Montville Town Councilor Gary Murphy posted

According to State Police, former Montville Town Councilor Dana McFee was arrested today and charged with sixth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of an anti-McFee sign – ‘Dump Dana’ - purchased and put up by former Town Councilor Gary Murphy.

Police said McFee turned himself in.

In October, McFee and Murphy went head-to-head on the issue in several Montville Patch posts including this one dubbed ‘Don’t Shoot the Messenger' and this one titled Something to Ponder.

And Murphy followed up with a post he titled You Decide which included surveillance images of the alleged theft.

On Oct. 28, 2013, McFee posted to his Facebook page that Murphy was attempting to have him arrested.

State Police said McFee was processed Wednesday.

The arrest and adjudication has not yet shown up on the state judicial website.
