According to State Police, former Montville Town Councilor Dana McFee was arrested today and charged with sixth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of an anti-McFee sign – ‘Dump Dana’ - purchased and put up by former Town Councilor Gary Murphy.

Police said McFee turned himself in.

In October, McFee and Murphy went head-to-head on the issue in several Montville Patch posts including this one dubbed ‘Don’t Shoot the Messenger' and this one titled Something to Ponder.

And Murphy followed up with a post he titled You Decide which included surveillance images of the alleged theft.

On Oct. 28, 2013, McFee posted to his Facebook page that Murphy was attempting to have him arrested.

State Police said McFee was processed Wednesday.

The arrest and adjudication has not yet shown up on the state judicial website.

Here's some information about the applicable state law.

Gary Murphy your a very small man. If this is what you had to do to win then I feel sorry for you and the people who voted for you. I would be nervous if I was a voter in your town as to what you might do the next time you can't get your way. Montville news is starting to look a lot like N.L. As Lisa state YOU GO DANA.

All right, let’s look at Politics at its best, New Jersey for example; Governor Christie is a threat to the Democrats for the Presidency; so now the Democratic President is charging the government to spend lots of Taxpayers money to investigate the backup on a highway. How much money are the taxpayers going to pay for a political witch-hunt to try and make Governor Christie look bad? Now in Montville, the Police had to investigate the removal of a sign that was defamatory to a man trying to do what he felt he was elected to do and also was given permission by the land owner to remove it. Doesn’t this sound just like the New Jersey incident? So let’s spend Taxpayers dollars for something that sounds so ridiculous. How much money will be spent to try and prosecute him? The Montville Democrats had their own sign removal man during many Elections. I’ve seen him myself, yet no one pushed to have him arrested. How much money is this investigation costing the Taxpayers for a personal vendetta? This practice will go on for as long as the Democrats are controlling the town. They will do whatever it takes to seek revenge on anyone that goes against them. I hope during my lifetime, the voters will stop continuing to elect people that will not represent them.

Imagine how these signs hurt a young child. How she felt having to see these signs everyday she went to school. Getting picked on at school for them. How would you feel if this was your child. The adults run for office not the child. Maybe next time people could think a little more about the signs they put out. Just dirty politics. It makes me sick. Its bullying. We are teaching our children that this is wrong? Theft is theft and it's wrong, but so were the signs and the damage it caused. Now I get to try to explain to my kids why adults can bully people and it is ok but, if they put signs around the school like that they would be suspended.
