Escape, DUI and Breach of Peace

The following arrest information was supplied by Connecticut State Police and Montville Police. It does not indicate convictions.

 

June 10

When Montville Police discovered an abandoned “hazardous” car on Rt. 82, they investigated and learned the vehicle was “taken without permission” from East Lyme and the operator had an outstanding warrant for escape in the first degree. Police brought K9 in, tracked the suspect into the woods and discovered him hiding behind a tree. Police arrested 39-year-old Matthew Kelly of Niantic on the warrant and additionally charged him with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer and driving with a suspended license. He was held on $25,000 bond.

Montville Police responded to a disturbance between a juvenile and a 21-year-old man at a Depot Road address in Uncasville. They charged Matthew Bernier of 193 Fitchville Road, Apt. 8, Bozrah with breach of peace.

Montville Police pulled over an erratic driver on Rt. 32 at 2:30 a.m. and detected a “strong odor of alcohol,” arresting the driver, Thomas P. Parnell, 34, and charging him with driving under the influence. He was held on a $500 bond.
