Connecticut State Police, Montville Police Make Arrests

Feb. 16

At 12:11 a.m., Montville Police arrested Edward Thomas Quinones, 20, of 158 Hawthorne Drive, New London, and charged him with improper hand signaling for turns or stopping, speeding, and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol; he was assessed a $500 bond on the final charge. The arrest came after police stopped him for a suspected motor vehicle violation, on Woodland Drive, Uncasville.

At 1:10 a.m., Montville Police arrested David Beaulieu, 55, of 56 Sunnyhill Drive, Uncasville, and charged him with disobeying the signal of an officer and attempting to elude, traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest came on Fort Shantok Road. He was charged a $500 bond on the final charge, and a March 8 court date was set.

At 2:41 a.m., police responded to Mohegan Sun. Thomas Montague, 21, of 13 Wightman St., New London, was attempting to park and struck a vehicle owned by Dan Lam, of Malden, MA. The report says that a witness got the registration information on “the evading vehicle and a follow up at the residence was conducted with the operator confessing to the accident.” He was given a summons for evading responsibility.

Feb. 13

At 4:37 p.m., Connecticut State Police responded to 178 Kitemaug Road, Uncasville, and arrested Christopher Caswell, 36, on a charge of threatening in the second degree. The report says that the subject sent a threatening text message to the victim. A $1,000 surety bond was set, and Caswell was given a Feb. 14 court date.

At 5 p.m., Montville Police responded to 82 Jerome Road, Uncasville, on a report of a disturbance. The argument became physical, the report says. Police arrested Julio Pinto, 29, of 82 Jerome Road, Uncasville, and charged him with criminal attempt to strangle, assault in the third degree, risk of injury and breach of peace. A $1,000 cash bond was set, and Pinto was given a court date of Feb. 14.

At 8:25 a.m., Montville Police responded to Route 32 at Gallivan Lane, and arrested Joshua M. Kunkel, 20, of 22 Kendall Road, Lisbon, on an outstanding felony warrant for violation of probation. The arrest came after a traffic stop. A $25,000 cash bond was set, and Kunkel was transferred to the Department of Correction. A Feb. 14 court date was set.

Feb. 11

At 3:35 p.m., police responded to 49 Golden Road, Montville, for a report of a dent in the right side of a 2010 Chevy Travese. The vehicle that hit the car, which is owned by Lawrence Anderson of 25 Des Jardins Drive, left the scene; there was no description in the report.

At 12:04 a.m., Montville Police arrested Christine L. Casteel, 44, of 171 Montauk Ave., New London, and charged her with failure to drive right, insurance coverage filing minimum requirements, driving when registration or license is refused or suspended, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. A $1,000 bond was set for the final charge. The arrest came on Route 2A eastbound, after a complaint came in to Troop E. The report says the “vehicle was observed operating erratically and was stopped. The operator failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.”

At 6 p.m., Montville Police arrested Amy Walsh, 31, of 80 Mohegan Park, Norwich, on an arrest warrant issued by court, pursuant to a larceny complaint. The incident occurred on Leffingwell Road, in Uncasville. Walsh was charged with sixth-degree larceny, ID theft, and forgery. She was released on $5,000 bond.

Feb. 6

At 11:30 p.m., police arrested Richard Greene, 38, of 3 Pond Road, North Franklin, and charged him with a violation of a restraining order. He was assessed a $500 bond and given a Feb. 7 court date in Norwich. Greene turned himself in.

At 3:56 a.m., police arrested Jade L. Perry, 25, of 287 Harland Road, Norwich, and charged her with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 395. She was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond and scheduled for court on Feb. 22.

Feb. 5

At 10:21 p.m., police responded to Route 32 in Uncasville, and charged Steven Atkinson, 48, of 491 Route 32, Uncasville, with third-degree assault and second degree breach of peace following a verbal argument that escalated into a physical one. The report says that Atkinson punched the victim in the face, breaking the victim’s nose. The victim refused medical treatment. Atkinson was assessed a cash bond of $1,000 and given a Feb. 7 court date.

At 6:36 a.m., Montville Police arrested Miguel Pineda, 42, of 89 Diaz St., Stamford, and served him with a warrant for failure to pay or plead. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Route 2A.

At 2:02 a.m., Montville Police arrested Chenet E. Torres, 28, of 179 Laurel Drive, New London, and charged her with failure to carry a license, failure to drive fight, traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. She was assessed a $500 bond on the final charge. The arrest came on Interstate 395, at Exit 79A after Torres, according to the report, lost control of her vehicle.

Feb. 4

At 9:07 a.m., Montville Police responded to Norwich New London Turnpike at Platoz Drive for a two-vehicle accident.

A 1988 Ford F-150 driven by Jonathan C. Fisher, 58, of 189 Kimball Road, Lisbon, and a 2001 Toyota Highlander driven by Peter E. Chin, 58, of 11 Brian Blvd., Uncasville, collided. Fisher complained ot pain in his right leg. Both vehicles were towed.

At 8:55 p.m., on Turner Road in Oakdale, Montville Police arrested Eugenia Smith, 60, of 125 Jefferson Ave., New London, and charged her with larceny in the third degree. A $5,000 cash bond was set, and she was given a Feb. 17 court date in Norwich.

At 12:45 p.m., Norwich Superior Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Eric I. Crone, 44, of 31 Linda Ave., Montville, on charges of risk of injury, third-degree assault, and disorderly conduct, relating to a Jan. 24 incident. A $100,000 cash bond was set, and he was given a Feb. 7 court date.
