Connecticut, Montville Police Make Arrests

April 14

At 10:50 p.m., Montville Police arrested Gregg Shailor and charged him with third-degree assault.

At 2:34 p.m., police responded to Interstate 395 north, ¼ mile from the Montville Connector, for a two-vehicle accident. A truck driven by Charles Hesseltine, 54, of 41 Williams St., Meriden, was traveling north on 395 in the left-hand lane when another vehicle ahead of him made a U-turn using the emergency turnaround. Hesseltine moved into the right lane where the tractor jackknifed, facing south, the report says. It ended up on the shoulder of the road, where, according to the report, “it struck a highway delineator before coming to final rest.” The second vehicle did not stop and was not identified.

At 8:20 p.m., police arrested Raymond Daigle, 69, of 38 Elizabeth St., Norwich, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He posted a $50 bond and was released and given an April 28 court date. The arrest came on Mohegan Sun Blvd.

At 7:41 p.m., Montville Police arrested Kathleen A. Charles, 41, of 30 Krause Road, Lebanon, and charged her with issuing a bad check and larceny in the sixth degree. The arrest was on a warrant stemming from an incident in 2008, the report said. She was charged a cash bond of $1,000 and given an April 28 court date.

At 2:04 a.m., Montville Police arrested Shawn Patrick Close, 21, of 986 Norwich New London Turnpike, Uncasville, and charged him with failure to drive right and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $1,000 nonsurety bond on the latter charge, and given a May 3 court date. The arrest came on Route 32, after, according to the report, his vehicle was seen “operating erratically.”

At 12:35 a.m., police arrested Lombordo Chertlyn, 36, of 22 Dydo Drive, Uncasville, and charged him with breach of peace and interfering with an officer. The report says he was arrested after an incident on Dydo Drive. He was assessed a $250 cash bond and given a court date of April 28.

April 16

At 11:40 p.m., police arrested Fernando B. Carrasquillo, 28, of 253 Norwich Ave., Taftville, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, driving a motor vehicle while under suspension, second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. The arrest came after a traffic stop on Interstate 395 at Exit 78. The report says that upon arrival at Troop E, the accused punched through a window and had to be transported to Backus Hospital with hand lacerations. He was assessed a $5,000 cash bond, transported to the department of correction and given an April 18 court date.

At 10:05 p.m., police arrested Daniel Viera, 25, of 253 Norwich Ave., Taftville, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive in established lane, and no insurance. He was assessed a nonsurety bond of $2,500 and given an April 26 court date. The arrest came on Interstate 395 southbound in Montville.

At 6:15 p.m., police arrested Richard A. Ninteay, 52, of 841 Route 32, Montville, and charged him with breach of peace. He was charged a $2,500 bond and given an April 18 court date.

April 17

At 10:35 a.m., Connecticut State Police arrested Arthur N. Kinney, 49, of 52 Allyn St., Norwich, and charged him with interfering with an officer/simple assault, and breach of peace, after an incident on Route 2A. The report says that Kinney became combative after learning that his vehicle was being towed for “misuse of marker plate.” He was released on a $1,500 nonsurety bond and given a court date of April 28.

 April 20

 

At 7:11 p.m., Montville Police arrested Tricia L. Bunnell, 39, of 247 Maple Ave., Montville, and charged her with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. She was assessed a nonsurety bond of $1,000 and given a court date of May 3. The arrest took place at the intersection of Rhode Island and Texas drives.

 April 21

At 8:36 p.m., Montville Police responded to Polly’s Lane for a report of a minor making threats. The minor was arrested and charged with second-degree threatening. No bond was assessed. An April 22 court date was set.

 April 22, 2011

At 12:22 a.m., Montville Police arrested Reuben S. Croft, 37, of 91 Leffingwell Road, Uncasville after he was stopped on a suspected motor vehicle violation on Route 32 at Occum Lane. He was charged with traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, driving a motor vehicle with a refused or suspended license and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $1,000 nonsurety bond on the final charge, and a May 3 court date was set.
