Montville, State Police Report Arrests

May 14

At 11:04 p.m., Montville Police responded to the boat launch on Dock Road and arrested David R. Jensen, 18, of 30 Sharp Hill Road, Uncasville, charging him with weapons in vehicle, injury or risk of injury/impairing the morals of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The report says he was in possession of “several long knives,” in addition to drug paraphernalia. He was assessed a $2,500 nonsurety bond on the paraphernalia charge, and given a May 26 court date.

At 10:56 p.m., police responded to Oak Hill Road in Montville, where they arrested Edward Patton, and charged him with being in violation of a protective order. He was assessed a $2,500 bond and given a May 16 court date.

At 6:54 p.m., police responded to Raymond Hill Road at Meetinghouse Lane in Montville for a call about a suspicious person. They arrested Earl J. Jackson, 29, of 426 South Eureka Ave., Columbus, OH, after finding there was a warrant for failure to appear, in the second degree, against him. He was given a May 26 court date; no bond information was included in the report.

At 6:45 p.m., police arrested Gregg Shailor, 44, of 1396 Route 163, Oakdale, and charged him with violating a protective order. He was assessed a cash bond of $5,000 and given a court date of May 16.

At 1:06 a.m., Montville Police arrested Anthony J. Nelson, 23, of 20 Huntington Ave., Norwich, and charged him with failure to have head lamps, improper hand signaling for turns or stopping, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond for the latter charge, and given a May 31 court date. The arrest came on Route 163 in Montville. The report says that “the subject vehicle was observed with only one head lamp illuminated. In addition, the subject vehicle made a left turn without activating a left-turn signal.”

At midnight, Montville Police arrested Ernest Edward Dashnaw, 43, of 232 Eastern Point Road, Groton, and charged him with improper hand signaling for turns or stopping, unsafe movement of stopped/standing/parked motor vehicle, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the latter charge, and given a May 31 court date. The arrest came at the Lathrop Road/Power House Road intersection.

At 12:23 a.m., Montville Police arrested Fritz H. Celestin, 45, of 33 13th St., Norwich, and charged him with driving or towing an unregistered motor vehicle, insurance coverage failing to meet minimum requirements, driving a motor vehicle while the license or registration is refused/suspended/revoked, driving with a suspended license, failure to drive right, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the final charge, and given a May 31 court date. The arrest came on the Norwich New London Turnpike after, according to the report, “the subject vehicle was observed operating erratically.”
