Montville, State Police Report Arrests

Jan. 21

At 6 a.m., Montville Police responded to a two-car accident at Chesterfield Road and Route 85.

Cars driven by Susan M. Perkins, 44, of 18 Connecticut Blvd., and Varcia N. Toussaint, 29, of 7 Hale Haven Court, Uncasville, collided. Both vehicles were towed. There were no injuries. According to the report, Perkins’s car was stopped at the intersection. Toussaint’s vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 85, when Perkins’s car began pulling forward because of a sight-line issue with a snowbank.

At 1:15 a.m., Connecticut State Police made a routine traffic stop on Interstate 395 and arrested Ishmael Marrow, 52, of 455 McKinley Ave., Stratford, and charged him with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was charged a $2,500 nonsurety bond and a court date of Feb. 1 was set.

At 5:50 a.m., Montville Police arrested Juan Rivera, 36, of 131 Moxley Road, Uncasville, and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. The arrest was made at Rivera’s home on Moxley Road after he apparently overdosed, according to the report. He was assessed a $2,500 nonsurety bond, and a court date of Feb. 3 was set.

 Jan. 23

At 5:18 a.m., Connecticut State Police responded to an accident on Interstate 395, near Exit 79A. Isaiah A. Lee, 29, of 42 Morse Ave., Groton, lost control of his vehicle and hit the guardrail in the center median. The operator evaded the scene of the accident, according to the report. The vehicle was towed.

At 12:45 p.m., Albert Greenwood, 81, of North Branford, CT, was traveling south on Interstate 395, before Exit 78, when a northbound vehicle used the turnaround to get to the southbound side of the highway, according to the report. While trying to avoid this vehicle, Greenwood swerved into the center median.

 Jan. 25

 At 1:54 a.m., a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 95, a half-mile north of Exit 88 in Groton, went off the left shoulder of the highway and into the center median. The vehicle landed on its roof. The driver died. The name is not being released until the next of kin is notified.

Jan. 28

 At 9:20p.m., Connecticut State Police and Montville Police responded to Lynch Hill Road for an unresponsive person. Montville EMS was also notified and responded. A resident was discovered deceased within the residence, the report says. No criminal aspect is suspected. The office of the Chief State Medical Examiner was notified and is assisting in the continuing investigation.

Jan. 29

At 8:19 p.m., a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by Gordon Brooks, 32, of 555 Slater Road, New Britain, was traveling northbound on Mohegan Blvd. A white Toyota Camry, with a CT license plate 151MXY was behind Brooks’s truck. Brooks stopped at the intersection with Sandy Desert Road, in the center travel lane. The Camry pulled into the left land, hitting the right quarter panel of Brooks’s truck, and causing minor damage. The Camry left the scene, according to the police report.

 At 2:43 a.m., Salvatore A. Cardello, 34, was stopped for what the police report says was a motor vehicle violation on Route 32. Cardello was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and a $500 bond was assessed. He was also charged with traveling unreasonably fast/fast for conditions.

Jan. 30

At 9:04 p.m., a vehicle driven by Frank K. Watson, 38, of 87 Woodland Drive, Apt. A, Uncasville and a vehicle driven by Luanne Llanes, 54, of 17 Card St., Lebanon, collided on Route 2A. The vehicle driven by Watson was towed. There were no injuries.

 At 2:48 a.m., Montville Police arrested Chris M. Savaria, no age given, no address given, at 863 Norwich New London Turnpike, on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, improper hand signaling, and driving a motor vehicle without a license. A $500 nonsurety bond was assessed for the DUI charge.

Feb. 1

At 9:14 p.m., a vehicle driven by Viktor A. Larionov, 59, of 8 Flyers Drive, Norwich, as travling westbound on Route 2A, when Larionov lost control of the car and hit a snowbank. The car he was driving rolled onto its roof. Halana Yeadocemova, 49, of 5 Flyers Drive, Norwich, was taken to Backus Hospital for possible injuries, and Larionov’s car was towed.

At 1:36 p.m., Ashley Deanna Liebig, 21, of 24 Massapeag Point Road, Uncasville, turned herself into Troop E in Montville for an outstanding warrant for her arrest on a charge of second-degree failure to appear. She was taken into custody without incident and charged a $100 bond. A Feb. 2 court date was set.

At 6:30 p.m., Montville Police arrested Ricardo Baez, 26, of 130 Boston Post Road, East Lyme, on Route 32 in Uncasville, on a warrant issued by a Norwich court after a complaint of theft from a local store. A $1,000 cash bond was set, and he was given a Feb. 3 court date.

At 1:44 a.m., Katie M. Kennedy, 26, of 493 Route 82, Oakdale, was charged with driving an unregistered motor vehicle and insurance coverage failing to meet the minimums. She was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.

Feb. 4

At 9:07 a.m., Montville Police responded to Norwich New London Turnpike at Platoz Drive for a two-vehicle accident.

A 1988 Ford F-150 driven by Jonathan C. Fisher, 58, of 189 Kimball Road, Lisbon, and a 2001 Toyota Highlander driven by Peter E. Chin, 58, of 11 Brian Blvd., Uncasville, collided. Fisher complained ot pain in his right leg. Both vehicles were towed.

 At 8:55 p.m., on Turner Road in Oakdale, Montville Police arrested Eugenia Smith, 60, of 125 Jefferson Ave., New London, and charged her with larceny in the third degree. A $5000 cash bond was set, and she was given a Feb. 17 court date in Norwich.

At 12:45 p.m.,  Norwich Superior Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Eric I. Crone, 44, of 31 Linda Ave., Montville, on charges of risk of injury, third-degree assault, and disorderly conduct, relating to a Jan. 24 incident. A $100,000 cash bond was set, and he was given a Feb. 7 court date.

Feb. 5

At 10:21 p.m., police responded to Route 32 in Uncasville, and charged Steven Atkinson, 48, of 491 Route 32, Uncasville, with third-degree assault and second degree breach of peace following a verbal argument that escalated into a physical one. The report says that Atkinson punched the victim in the face, breaking the victim’s nose. The victim refused medical treatment. Atkinson was assessed a cash bond of $1,000 and given a Feb. 7 court date.

At 6:36 a.m., Montville Police arrested Miguel Pineda, 42, of 89 Diaz St., Stamford, and served him with a warrant for failure to pay or plead. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Route 2A.

At 2:02 a.m., Montville Police arrested Chenet E. Torres, 28, of 179 Laurel Drive, New London, and charged her with failure to carry a license, failure to drive fight, traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. She was assessed a $500 bond on the final charge. The arrest came on Interstate 395, at Exit 79A after Torres, according to the report, lost control of her vehicle.

Feb. 6

At 11:30 p.m., police arrested Richard Greene, 38, of 3 Pond Road, North Franklin, and charged him with a violation of a restraining order. He was assessed a $500 bond and given a Feb. 7 court date in Norwich. Greene turned himself in.

At 3:56 a.m., police arrested Jade L. Perry, 25, of 287 Harland Road, Norwich, and charged her with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 395. She was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond and scheduled for court on Feb. 22.
