Crashes, DUI and Trespass Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by Connecticut State Police and Montville Police. It does not indicate convictions.

March 15

At 6:03 p.m., police responded to Interstate 395 northbound for a two-vehicle crash. Vehicles driven by Jayne Fawcett, 66, of 61 Teecomwas Drive, Uncasville, and Kristin Lems, 40, of 65 Woodside Ave., Norwich, collided. Fawcett was transported with possible injuries, as was Brianna Seidel, 13, of 30 Admiral Drive, New London; Gabriella Seidel, 9, of 30 Admiral Drive, New London; Cassandra Seidel, 14, of 30 Admiral Drive, New London; and Isabel Lems, 6, of 65 Woodside Ave., Norwich.

At 6:23 p.m., vehicles driven by Melissa Rodriguez, 29, of 300 Meridian St., Groton, and Kristin Lems, 40, of 65 Woodside Ave., Norwich, collided on Interstate 395 north. Rodriguez was taken to the hospital for a possible injury. The report says that her vehicle was stopped in heavy traffic on the Route 32 connector because of a previous accident.

March 23

At 12:48 p.m., Montville Police responded to 77 Lake Drive and arrested Jeffrey Cuff, 21, of 10 Carolina Drive, A33, Oakdale. The warrant charged him with criminal trespass in the first degree, and breach of peace in the second degree. He was assessed a $2,500 cash bond, to be presented in court, and was transported to the Department of Correction.

March 24

At 11:28 p.m., police responded to the Riverview Garage at Mohegan Sun for a report of a two-vehicle crash. A 2006 Buick driven by Talia Pagan, 22, 70 Dodge Ave., East Haven, and Cherielin Toporowski, 29, of 6 Greenhills Road, Quaker Hill, collided. The report says that Toporowski’s vehicle left the scene, and that possible injuries were reported.

At 3:27 a.m., police arrested Bobby R. Durham, 21, 217 Barnes Ave., New Haven, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, driving when registration or license is refused/suspended/revoked, and insurance coverage failing to meet minimum requirements. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the first charge and given an April 3 court date. The arrest came after a traffic stop on Mohegan Sun Blvd.

March 25

At 2:28 a.m., Montville Police arrested Robert L. Carlson, 29, of 231 Avery Hill Road, Ledyard, and charged him with failure to drive right, illegal operation of motor vehicle while under suspension, and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 cash bond on the latter charge, and given an April 17 court date. The arrest came, according to the report, after an officer observed him “operating his vehicle erratically and at a high rate of speed.”

March 28

At 4 p.m., police arrested Joseph A. Suntheimer, 28, of 1591 Route 32, Apt. 19, Uncasville, and charged him with driving while under suspension “and other charges resulting from a traffic stop on Route 163 in Montville.”

He was assessed a $1,500 nonsurety bond and given an April 24 court date.

March 30

At 3:30 p.m., Montville Police arrested Malik Edwards, 18, 45 Cottage Road, Oakdale, and Robert K. Marino, 18, also of 45 Cottage Road, Oakdale, and charged them both with third-degree larceny and third-degree burglary.  Each was assessed a $500 bond and given an April 12 court date. The report says the arrests came after they were accused of entering another student’s dorm room and taking cash.
