Crash, Criminal Trespass, DUI Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by Connecticut State Police and Montville Police. It does not indicate convictions.

Sept. 9

At 1:56 a.m., Montville Police responded to a one-car accident at the intersection of Route 32 and the Route 2A on-ramp. Savonne R. Mitchell, 30, of 535 Congress Ave., Waterbury, drove off the road and, according to the report, “struck a fixed object.” Patrick E. McCarthy of Jewett City, a passenger in Mitchell’s car, complained of chest pains after the accident and was taken to the William W. Backus Hospital.

At 9:56 p.m., police responded to 274 Maple Ave., for a call of a drunken man who had walked in, alarming the residents. The man, Winfred J. Stentz III, of 9 Pequot Ave., Uncasville, was charged with criminal trespass and breach of the peace. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond and given a Sept. 22 court date.

Sept. 10

At 3:40 a.m., Montville Police arrested Teresa Tomaso, 29, of 320 Goshen Hill Road, Lebanon, and charged her with failure to drive right and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. She was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the latter charge, and given a court date of Sept. 27. The arrest came on Route 32, after a two-vehicle accident involving Tomaso’s 2001 Nissan Maxima and a 1996 Ford Taurus driven by Salemma Nicholas, 65, of 41 Milefski Drive, Montville. The vehicles collided on Route 32 at Platoz Drive. Both vehicles were towed. There were no injuries.

Sept. 13

At 1:24 a.m., Montville Police arrested Rafael A. Herrera, 41, of 204 Norwich-New London Turnpike, and charged him with failure to drive right and driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the latter charge, and given a Sept. 27 court date. The arrest came on Route 32 after a motor vehicle stop.

Sept. 14

At 9:09 a.m., Montville Police arrested Frank W. Watson, 39, of 87 Woodland Drive, Apt. A, on warrants includingoperating or towing an unregistered motor vehicle, harassment, threatening and disorderly conduct. The arrest came on Route 32 at Woodland Drive.
