Update: What Would You Like to See Here?

The Nook

The Nook opened Nov. 2, 2010. I can be this specific only because the Montville Patch held its launch party at the Nook one week later, Nov. 9, 2010.

Owner Kristan Servidio and her crew served up delicious salads, excellent pastries, fat sandwiches and some of the best coffee around. The Nook, in the block of stores that includes Montville Florist, and is just down the street from Friendly Pizza, became a favorite spot for many in Montville.

In August 2011, an electrical fire took out the Nook. Servidio says she is not planning on returning - at least not to the same spot (look for a story soon on the Montville Patch).

So what would you like to see in the Nook's old spot, on the Norwich-New London Turnpike? Write your ideas in the comment box below, and I'll make sure the information gets to the Economic Development Commission, Mayor Ron McDaniel and the Planning Department!

There are some great comments and ideas on the Montville Patch Facebook page, including:

Carol Beebe Carpino Was hoping for a nice Itlaian deli or bakery.

Christy Valle Taco Bell!! We so need one in town!!

Brandi Haskins Rothberg ooh a bakery would be nice

LisaMarie Campagna Bower THE NOOK !!!!!!!

Bob Bedard Just did some research and the store front is already taken and looks like the same kind of buisness as the "Nook" will be in it .

Great ideas, folks! And thanks Bob Bedard, for the info!

So what else would you like to see? Please add your comments in the box below!

How about a sub-station for the states attorneys office so they can monitor all the corruption in Montville?

Annie- Decent idea but I think there is an FBI white collar crime unit already lined up to co-rent with the csp computer crimes division.
