Today's 5: Hey, Was That Legal?

Find out tonight at a Freedom of Information seminar at Montville Town Hall

1. Expect another beautiful autumn day today, with a high in the mid-60s, and wall-to-wall sun. That sun will come up at 7:02 a.m., and set at 6:06 p.m.

2. Tonight at Town Hall, there's a seminar on Freedom of Information, and the rules and regulations governing public bodies. The event starts at 7 p.m., and is being put on by Tom Hennick, of the Freedom of Information Commission.

If you're interested in knowing what your public bodies can and can not do, if you want an education on the legalities of setting agendas, giving public notice of meetings, and the right way to conduct and record public meetings, the seminar is for you.

It's free, and open to everyone.

3. The Montville Rotary Club meets Tuesday at 7 a.m., at the Hyatt Place hotel. The Rotary is a group of citizens who get together in the spirit of public service. They are always looking for new members!

4. Today is National Wear Something Gaudy Day, so as you're dressing, keep that in mind!

5. What did you do this weekend? Did you go to the Mohegan Elementary School Carnival? Did you go to the Democratic candidates meet and greet at the Brown Derby? Did you hit Mohegan Sun, put mums on your front porch, or decorate your house for Halloween? If you did any of this, and you took photos, please add them today to YOUR Weekend in Photos!, a round-up of pix from Montville Patch readers! And thank you!
