Readers' Choice: Pick a Staycation!

Stay at home - but take a vacation from real life. Where would you go, what would you do?

OK, so the economy is horrible, money is tight, the weather is wacky - but it's still summer, and there are still vacations - so what's a family to do?

Enter the Staycation - where you stay pretty much in the area, but do fun stuff anyways.

Some families might spend a weekend at . Parents could shop or gamble while kids checked out the cyber fun at or enjoyed themselves at .

Folks lucky enough to have a mobile home might spend the summer at or campground on Gardner Lake.

The Montville Youth Summer Center offers great programs on a first-come, first-served basis. There's Judo Camp, offered by the Montville Parks & Recreation Department, and there's summer camp, too, also through Parks & Red. These might not be true "staycation" activities, but then again, they might...

The staycation might just involve a week of family fun in the area, including swimming at , hiking at , and visiting some of the local attractions like the Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Pequot Museum at Foxwoods...
