Patch's Poll: Would You Pay $500 to Attend a Presidential Campaign Visit?

That was the ticket price to see President Barack Obama during a campaign stop in Stamford on Monday.

President Barack Obama came to Connecticut Monday evening for a pair of quick fundraising visits with supporters and wealthy donors.

to a $500-per-ticket reception at the Stamford Marriott, followed by a $35,800-a-head dinner at the Westport home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The money will go straight to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.

. The president’s campaign has raised $2.8 million versus Romney’s campaign raising $4.8 million.

All this talk about money has got us asking: would you pay $500 to see a presidential candidate speak, whether it be Obama or Romney? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.

didn't that software guy Ross Perot say something like 'Listen to the sucking sound!". ?? it's reverberating louder than ever with each cycle of these campaigns and elections. most of those $35K donations are merely 'tax writeoffs' for these fat-cats anyway, a drop in the bucket!

We do not need new laws, we the final say, we need to hold them accountable and that means being involved and knowledgeable. It's a novel concept this self government. but if you do not do it you lose it . You do it by knowing who you are voting for on the local level, it's like building a farm team, these people will move up only with your support. David this election is no joke.
