Letter to the Editor: McFee Accuses Council of Playing Politics With Child Safety Zones

Letter to the Editor from Montville Town Councilor Dana McFee

In vindictive and cowardly fashion, Montville’s Council Democrats tried to repeal the Child Safety Zones following the repeal of the Senior Safety Zones.

While I personally opposed the Child Safety Zones because I feel they are unenforceable and offer no protection for our children, I don’t believe this ordinance was as legal a threat as were the Senior Safety Zone ordinance and there were no plans to petition to repeal the Child Safety Zones.

This was just an obvious attempt to cast us in negative light to parents  that support Child Safety Zones by blaming our repeal efforts of the senior zones as reason to repeal the child zones.

Their effort however proved to be unsuccessful due to council chairwoman Buebendorf’s incompetence and lack of understanding of how to repeal an existing ordinance.

So the bottom line is that Montville’s child safety zones are still in effect.

How did candy get elected? Ever time I look at patch I see she made another mistake. We can not afford her incompetence. She needs to step down or do what Gary did and quit.

She will then joe will take over as chairman and then the mayor will step down and bang joe is mayor again. Then we all are in trouble!

wow buebendorf didn't follow her own rules as chair. this isn't the first time she's done this and it won't be the last. it would be party time on the council if she quit with billy as chair and ronnie the mayor. party on dudes

Buebendorf has been nothing but trouble since the day she was elected . Time for her to follow Murphy out the door. She is not kind, don't care about anyone but herself.

Her and the rest need to resign too!
