Daily 5: Welcome to the Last Week of Summer Vacation

The Montville Patch wants to know what you're doing in this last week?

1. A little rain this morning, followed by a clear day, a sunny afternoon and, tonight, temperatures in the mid-50s.

2. A trivia contest on Friday at the Oakdale Firehouse will benefit the Montville Democratic Town Committee. The entry fee is $10 per person, and there are prizes for the top three teams.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the first round of questions starts at 6:30 p.m. Chips and light refreshments will be provided, soda and bottled water will be available; you may bring your own beer and wine. The group is hoping that teams of players will come to the event to compete!

3. Work on the Public Safety Building site seems to be making rapid progress – check out the photo in the photo box. The Public Safety Commission and the Public Safety Building Committee both are scheduled to meet this week. Click here to find out when!

4. “Town Matters,” a television show about Montville, hosted by Rosetta Jones, airs tonight at 8 p.m., on Channel 24. It is also on Channel 99, a free, view on demand, anytime, channel. Tonight’s guests are Jack Platt and Bill Bucko of the Public Safety Building Committee. Rosetta Jones, chairman of the Board of Assessment Appeals, and a Republican candidate for Montville Town Council, is the host.

5. It's the last week of school vacation in Montville! What are you doing on this final week of summer? Please tell us in the comment section!
