1. A little rain this morning, followed by a clear day, a sunny afternoon and, tonight, temperatures in the mid-50s.
2. A trivia contest on Friday at the Oakdale Firehouse will benefit the Montville Democratic Town Committee. The entry fee is $10 per person, and there are prizes for the top three teams.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the first round of questions starts at 6:30 p.m. Chips and light refreshments will be provided, soda and bottled water will be available; you may bring your own beer and wine. The group is hoping that teams of players will come to the event to compete!

4. “Town Matters,” a television show about Montville, hosted by Rosetta Jones, airs tonight at 8 p.m., on Channel 24. It is also on Channel 99, a free, view on demand, anytime, channel. Tonight’s guests are Jack Platt and Bill Bucko of the Public Safety Building Committee. Rosetta Jones, chairman of the Board of Assessment Appeals, and a Republican candidate for Montville Town Council, is the host.
