Daily 5: It's a Carnival of Carnivals!

Mohegan Elementary and the Dr. Charles E. Murphy School are both holding autumn fair events on Saturday. Double the fun!

1. Expect showers, showers and showers. And more showers. And then expect shower this evening, with a possible chance of thunderstorms.

The temperature will be dropping as the earth gets soaked. High today will be 71, and the low tonight, 56.

is hosting its fall carnival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be tons of games for the kids, including a bounce house, a book fair, a pie-eating contest, and a pie-throwing contest. Wow! Also, there will be a balloon artist, a DJ, hot dog, soda, chips and cotton candy. Admission is free, games and food are $1, and playing games gives you the chance to win gift cards from GameStop, Target, iTunes, Toys R Us and more.

3. And guess what? The is also hosting its fair on Saturday! The Murphy carnival takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and includes an inflatable obstacle course and slide, a dunk tank, a DJ, paint-a-pumpkin, prizes and food and drink.

This year, there are special events, too!

There’s Touch a Truck from 10 a.m. to noon, Zumba Family Fitness from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Murphy Staff Tricycle Race at 1 p.m.

4. On Friday, you might want to get yourself to Restaurant, from 6-8 p.m., to meet the Republican and Independence for Montville candidates for town offices. Food will be served; the group is asking for a $20 donation. .

5. Going to the Meet the Candidates Night? Going to one of the elementary school fairs? Bring a camera and upload the photos to the Montville Patch!

I'll put up a story early Saturday inviting everyone to share their photos - prove they went! To add your shots, click "Add your photos or videos" in the photo box. You'll search through your computer, the same way you do when you attach a photo to an email - and there you go, your pictures, big and bright and colorful, right on the front page of the Montville Patch!
