Education is not preparation for life. Education is life itself." John Dewey, American Philosopher

Community builds on itself. With a solid foundation, lives are enriched and opportunities are enhanced.

The Montville Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit community organization whose purpose is promoting excellence in education within the Montville community through financial support for educational opportunities and programs for residents of all ages. As part of our overall framework for our grant making, our advocacy and our leadership, the Montville Education Foundation (MEF) focuses on “Promoting a community of lifelong learners.”

Recognizing the vital need for private funding to enrich educational experiences for residents of all ages, MEF accomplishes its mission through financial generosity from individuals and businesses who believe in enhancing lifelong learning.

That is why… collectively, as a community we must embrace the reality that education is essential to the civic health of our community. By engaging and expanding the horizons of knowledge within the community, we empower tomorrow’s leaders while strengthening the community as a whole, now and into the future, in Montville and beyond.

That is why... the education of our children is critical for the success of the community. When families, teachers, and neighbors promote excellence, not only do students benefit but so also does the town in which we live.

That is why.... we are so grateful for the partnerships we share with local businesses. The Montville Community is fortunate to have generous benefactors who support our mission.

That is why... we appreciate all the parents, alumni, educators and community members who generously donate time and money to the MEF. The MEF is an expanding group, staffed entirely by volunteers. We all have families and most of us work outside the home.
