At the Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, Casey Olmsted's job may be the most important. She helps feed hundreds of Air Commandos every day.

"I love my job - everything from serving food in the dining facility, to greeting personnel at the Fitness Center; you can make someone's entire day just by having the right attitude," said Senior Airman Casey Olmsted, 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron food service accountant. "I really enjoy the human aspect of my job here!"

The Montville native attended the University of Connecticut, Western Connecticut University, and worked for a sheet metal fabrication company before focusing her attention toward the Air Force.

"My dad's father served in the U.S. Army and my mom's father served with the U.S. Navy, so the idea of enlisting was always in the back of my mind," Olmsted stated. "I reached a point that I didn't know where my life was headed; I knew I wanted to make a change and the Air Force just called out to me."

This services airman works diligently - providing critical monthly paperwork and numbers for the Pecos Trail dining facility to the Air Force Food Service Agency and Air Force Special Operations Command. Olmsted's hard work and dedication earned her recognition as a Diamond Sharp recipient for November.

"The 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group greatly contributes to the AFSOC mission at Cannon - we provide our troops with meals, lodging and fitness amenities they utilize daily," Olmsted added. "I feel like our Major Command's mission is one of the most critical ones out there and it's our job as services troops to take care of our people!"
