Parts of Montville Lost Power in the Wee Hours This Morning

The Town of Montville lost power in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

Route 163 corridor eastward lost power about 2:30am this morning. Several minutes later the power was restored to most of the town with the exception of Route 163 itself from about Chesterfield Road south to Route 32.

Around 6 a.m., the Montville 911 center placed a follow up call and CL&P had no idea what caused the outage and were not aware Route 163 was still out. After about 45 minutes the Montville 911 center was notified that the outage was due to a damaged wire coming down Jerome Road (most likely from the CL&P substation on Kileen Road). Everything should be back on at this time and CL&P expects no more interuptions.

Have a great day, be safe and be nice!
