Reflection and Resolution

Whenever I feel unsettled as I do now, feeling threatened by an unintentional coalition of government and violent criminals, I try to steady myself by reflecting on the facts of life.  For those of you unfamiliar, here they are…

• Life is not fair
• No one is exempt from death
• Physics rules the universe and biology rules life
• The universe does not care
• The only constant in life is change
• There is always a choice
• Wishing never makes it so
• A person can't exceed their limits
• A person is responsible for their own happiness
• It is impossible to change the character of another 

I am in the process of ruminating on these as I write.  Those that strike me now are “The only constant in life is change”, “There is always a choice”, and “Wishing never makes it so”. 

Our society and culture have changed and are changing every day.  Some change, such as the abolishment of slavery and the affirmation of civil rights is good.  Some change is not good, such as some of our leaders deliberately misinterpreting the Second Amendment, its history, its purpose, and its function for the purpose on compelling the people to forfeit their constitutional right to resist oppression and tyranny and protect themselves, their families, and their homes.     

My choice is to stand for the Constitution and the intentions of the founding fathers along with all the good changes that have occurred in the past 237 years. 

I know that my wishing the current troubles away will not have any effect on reality.  Inaction on my part will only make things worse. 

So I choose to act to preclude the ill changes proposed for our state and national constitutional rights by using my wishes as the basis for what I must do.  I will use my limited resources to voice my beliefs and philosophy via every channel I am able to access to the people and our elected leaders and government representatives.
