As this bakes, the buttery almond aroma of the Amaretto fills the house with a lovely fragrance.
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup dark corn syrup
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup Amaretto
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup sliced almonds
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- whipped cream for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until blended. Stir in corn syrup, sugar, butter, salt and Amaretto
Add chocolate chips and almonds and pour into the unbaked pie crust.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted between the center and the pie edges comes out clean.
Cool completely. Top with whipped cream and serve.
