Not to Be Missed Festival of Lights at Olde Mistick Village and Mystic Aquarium Friday

Featuring performances by student singers and musicians from area schools including Stonington, Mystic, Montville, New London, North Stonington and Ledyard.

Olde Mistick Village presents its 28th annual Festival of Lights beginning on Friday Dec. 13, at 5:30 p.m.

The event, which also includes neighboring Mystic Aquarium, begins at dusk with the lighting of more than 6,000 luminaries. Choirs of Leonard J. Tyl Middle School and Montville High School will be strolling and singing throughout the village while shops will have special events and refreshments. And the awesome Mystic Middle School jazz band will perform from 5 to 7:30 at Mystic Aquarium.

Admission to the Mystic Aquarium is free (with last admission at 7:30 p.m.) with one nonperishable food item per person. Items will be donated to the United Way's Gemma Moran Food Center.

On Saturday Dec. 14 and Sunday Dec. 15, choirs from area schools including  Wheeler High School of North Stonington will perform, and on Sunday, choirs from Pine Point School and Stonington High School will perform.  

Other entertainment includesHoliday music by Ragtime Too from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.; Too Tall Guys, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Ledyard High School Carolers at 6 p.m.; Fly By Night Holiday Jesters, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. and the Festive Brass will be performing in the Gazebo beginning at 6 p.m.

Pathways throughout the Aquarium will be illuminated by hundreds of luminaria as guests enjoy seasonal entertainment, face painters, storytellers, hot chocolate and even a visit from Santa.
