Social Services Needs Donations for Annual Thanksgiving Baskets

A letter from Montville Senior and Social Services Director Kathleen Doherty-Peck:

Dear Friends,

The time of the year has come when my Department is starting to prepare for the Holiday Food Baskets we distribute to our needy and indigent families for the Thanksgiving Holiday and the Food & Toy Baskets during the Christmas Holiday.  The Town of Montville Senior & Social Services Department would like to once again call upon your generosity to help us in our endeavors. Your past support has been so instrumental to our program, without your assistance, we would not be able to provide for as many families as we do.  Your generosity is our success!  

Our Montville Senior’s Community Project is the sorting of canned food and packaging the Holiday Baskets for our families in need!  We are still in need of donations for them to do so! 

The Holidays can be a very tough time for people and we try to make them as special as we can.  Simply put, we would not be able to provide for as many residents as we do without the community’s generosity and continued support.  I hope you will once again consider helping us, help those in need.

Please bring a food item to the Montville Senior Center this week to help with our Thanksgiving Food Baskets!  We are in need of any non-perishable items (potatoes, gravy, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, dessert items, etc.)  Anything you are able to give is greatly appreciated!  We are also in need of turkeys!
