Memorial Day Parade Regulations

These rules and regulations have been adopted in order to insure that the meaning

of the Memorial Day Parade is not lost, as we honor our war dead, our veterans, and our active service personnel for their contribution to our nation and our town.

Common decency shall prevail.

1.  Participants must comply with all traffic directions by Police and Fire Police personnel.

 2.  Proper flag decorum is to be observed.

 3.  Vehicles must be in good working order and under control at all times.

4.  Participants shall dress in a modest manner that will not offend anyone or subject children to indecent exposure. 

 5.  Floats shall be in good taste and bad language or indecent gestures will not be allowed.

6.  The parade is not a political arena.  Participants shall not carry political signs or pass out political literature along the parade route.  Floats are to be free of political advertisement.

 7.   Animal participation is permitted so long as any waste products are immediately picked up by accompanying personnel.

8.  Fireworks of any type or novelty noise objects are expressly forbidden on the parade route.  This includes both participant and spectator activities.
