Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo to Visit Montville

Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Kayla Harrison will be running a Judo clinic in Montville hosted by New London County Judo.

At the London 2012 Olympics Kayla became the first Judo player, male or female, to win Gold for the USA.

Ron Egnor, president of Connecticut Judo Inc has arranged for Kayla to spend the day with us teaching youth and adults her favorite winning techniques. She will also have an autograph session.  Kayla is not just a Judo champion but a wonderful role model for girls and boys alike having overcoming being a victim of teenage sexual abuse. Her training cost are high and Connecticut Judo needs to raise the $3000-plus to bring her here. To date we have approximately $900.

In early December Sharon Hunt, co-head of New London County Judo, arranged for 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist Jason Morris to visit. Jason is a four time Olympian and Olympic team coach at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Kids and adults had a great time. Many of the kids hope to have both of these Olympian's autographs on their belt.
