Incumbent Loses Montville Board of Ed Seat

Carrie Baxter is high vote-getter on Election Day 2013 in the Board of Education race.

On the Montville Board of Education, five incumbents, whose terms would expire Nov. 11, ran for re-election: Democrats Todd Pomazon and Sandra Berardy and incumbent Republicans Carrie Baxter and Steven Loiler. Valerie Smith sought a seat as a Democrat and Kim Navetta ran as a Republican.

With all the votes counted, Berardy was the only candidate left out, but the three-vote margin triggers an automatic recount.

After the final tally, Baxter was high vote-getter with 1,534 votes, followed by Navetta with 1,514, Pomazon with 1,435 votes and Smith earned 1,442 votes.
