Travel services are resuming following a widespread shutdown on Sunday, but the effects of Tropical Storm Irene are continuing to cause some delays and cancellations.
Amtrak has announced that flooding, debris, and power issues have affected rail lines in the Northeast Corridor. Crews are working to address the issues, and all Acela Express service between Boston and Washington, D.C. and all Northeast Regional service between Boston and Philadelphia has been canceled for today.
Shore Line East canceled morning service today, but service will resume for evening trains.

canceled an 8:10 a.m. departure from New London and 9:45 a.m. departure from Block Island. All other departures are scheduled to run as usual.
