1. The rain is supposed to lessen to showers today, though thunderstorms are still possible. chief Donald Bourdeau said on Wednesday that they way the rain was falling - heavy for a while and then tapering off - lessened the threat of flooding. While streams and creeks were running high, the problem areas hadn't become problems.

2. Having trouble with mold in the bathroom? Come back at 11 this morning for tips from the Blue-Thumbed builder on how to solve the problem. And at 1 p.m., we'll bring you an excellent recipe for pasta salad, perfect for a weekend picnic.

3. The Republican Town Committee presents Dr. John Foley this evening at the Montville VFW. Foley will discuss "The Patient Protection and Affordability Act." The evening will include a buffet and cash bar. For more information, click .

4. The nonprofit tag sale at on Saturday is to support the Montville Leos club. The Leos are a great organization that helps develop community spirit and volunteerism in kids at an early age. Take a moment to check out the sale!
