Maine Earthquake Rattles Connecticut Homes; Montville Residents Describe Tremors

There were numerous reports of tremors throughout Connecticut. In Montville, several residents reported shaking homes, tremors. Where were you when you felt the tremors, if you did?

 

According to the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the U.S. States Geological Survey reported a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurring at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday night, 3 miles west of Hollis Center, Maine.

There were numerous reports of this quake being felt in parts of Connecticut. No damage was reported.

The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security monitored the situation.

But reports flew in from Facebook and other social media about tremors and house shaking throughout eastern and central Connecticut within minutes of the quake.

In Montville, residents talked about feeling shaking, vibrations and trembling on Raymond Hill Road and other areas of Uncasville on our Facebook page.
