If Your Home Is Damaged, Let the Town Know Today

Call the Emergency Operations Center at 860-848-1417

Montville residents whose houses have been damaged by the storm should alert the town today.

Call the Emergency Operations Center at 860-848-1417, says Fire Marshal Ray Occhialini.

By Thursday afternoon, Occhialini has to submit a preliminary report of damage estimates to the state.

Residents do not need to have a monetary estimate of damages at this point, but must let the town know about the problems.

This preliminary notification will help the state and the Federal Emergency Management Administration figure out whether New London County will qualify for FEMA aid.

Occhialini stresses that the damage must be to your home, not to a shed, garage, trees, driveway, etc.

As you do start to have repairs done, Occhialini says that it's vital that you document everything.
