Daily Five: Scholarships, Tests and Sunshine!

1. Near 50 today with lots of sun. A taste of spring!

2. State assessment testing has begun in Montville schools.  At Montville High School it’s the Connecticut Academic Performance Test and at Tyl Middle School and the elementary schools it’s the Connecticut Mastery Test.  I sent an extra apple in with my kids today! Maybe it’s not quite brain food, but it can’t hurt!

3. There are myriad scholarships still available for Montville students to apply for and while Montville High School posts all upcoming scholarships in Naviance Family Connection I wanted to alert you to these with upcoming deadlines: Athletic Booster Club Scholarship, deadline is March 22; Isaac Emerson Palmer Scholarship Fund, deadline also is March 22 and the Montville High School Scholarship, deadline is March 27. Check the schools website for more info.

4.  Board of Assessment Appeals begins today.   

5.  Today at 4 p.m. the Finance Committee meets to go over the public works budget for 2013-2014. Patch will be there and will report back Wednesday.
