Daily Five: Hypnotist is Back, Slippery Roads (Be Careful!) and Celebrating Catholic Schools

Your Daily Five, Montville. Have a great week.

1. Here’s the story on the weather: it’s a messy winter day! By 1 p.m., expect to begin seeing snow, sleet, rain …yuk. It will be very slippery on the roads so PLEASE be carful driving.

2. Tonight at 7 p.m., local hypnotist and comedian Jim Spinnato will be performing at Montville High School, another awesome fundraiser for Project Graduation 2013. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. When he performed at Tyl last fall, I heard the show was a riot!

3.  Today starts Catholic Schools Week and we’re fortunate enough t have one of the regions best right here! Saint Bernard’s has a full lineup of events at the school to celebrate, beginning today with an art show that features the work of students from 11 different schools in the Diocese.

4.  Also today there are three town meetings -- Board of Education, Town Admin/Rules Committee and Public Safety Commission – featuring important agenda items all.

5. And finally, the collective heart of this community broke this weekend with the death 20-year-old Shane Sweeney. We are all keeping his family in our hearts and in our prayers.

The hypnotist show is canceled for tonight - hopefully rescheduling for March or early spring. Look for the signs around town and on The Patch.
