1. It will feel a lot like spring today with lots of sun and temps just over 50. Yay!

2.  Montville High School
 Academic Decathlon Spring Drive began recently and continues until April 26. Fifty percent of all purchases made on the website Flower Power Fundraising will be given to the Academic Decathlon Team to help them get the necessary materials to help them prepare for the 2014 National Competition in Hawaii. Flowers? Yes. Help kids? Yes!

3. Today Mohegan fifth graders participate in Spirit Day – Hat Day; they pay $1 to wear a funny hat. Funds raised help support class programs.

4. At tonight’s Public Works/Solid Waste Standing Committee meeting there will be “action” taken to “formally end the Town-Wide Trash Pickup effort.” A proposal three years in the making was defeated recently when residents packed Town Council chambers earlier this month to voice their disapproval of the program.
