Daily Five: Empty Bowls Benefit, Three Meeting Day and Snowed Out?

Your Daily Five, Montville.

1. The calm before the storm: Intervals of clouds and sunshine in the morning with more clouds for later in the day; high around 30.

2. Today, beginning at 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. is the Empty Bowls Benefit being held by Montville High School Art & Culinary Students in an effort to help feed the hungry in New London County. Folks donate $5 for an empty unique ceramic bowl or $10 for a filled – with soup – hand crafted bowl. The soup and bread is made and served by culinary arts students (you can take it to go!) The idea is the bowls are a lasting reminder of world hunger. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit local food pantries serving the poor and homeless. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction. If you are able, please support this awesome project.

4. There are three meetings today;
